Goal Theory

The human concept of goals may vary from person to person. It is commonly understood that everyone is different, having different views and opinions. Goals are viewed in the same manner and each is perceived in a different way. One person may see material things as a reward, while others may be satisfied with a pat on the back. It is closely related to the Expectancy Theory of Motivation, according to which the effort a person is willing to put forth is influenced by two factors: expectancy and valence. Expectancy is the degree to which a person expects that his or her behaviour will lead to certain outcomes. Valence is how attractive these outcomes are to that person. The Path-Goal Theory believes that a leader can change a subordinate's expectancy by clarifying the paths between the subordinate's action and the outcome, which is the goal the employee, wants to achieve. Whether leader behaviour can do so effectively also depends on situational factors. ("", n.d., p. 1)Leaders and followers have two different goals, simply put the leader leads and the followers follow. These together may combine into a single goal. When a group is involved it is important to have clarification of the goal. Employees of a company should have a clear understanding of what the goal that is to be accomplished is. In a company type scenario the goal may vary weekly, monthly or on an annual basis. In a school type environment the goal theory may be different. Consideration was defined as the degree to which a leader provides a friendly, supportive, and helpful environment for subordinates. There were two principal findings from this classic study: Subordinate role ambiguity was considered to have a negative correlation with initiating structure. That is, if a subordinate has a habitual or accustomed job, then a high level of initiating structure will decrease employee satisfaction. In contrast, an employee has a highly ambiguous role with the organization then a high level of initiating structure by the leader would lead to high levels of employee satisfaction. In terms of consideration, for subordinates who have routine jobs, a greater consideration by the leader should result in increased job satisfaction. For professional individuals and those whose position is less determined by specific job duties, consideration has been found to have almost no effect.

Goal theory is the belief that every student sets goals and each of these goals are linked to behaviors and beliefs. These behaviors are directly linked to the student’s desire to achieve their goals. A student’s goal orientation is based by what actually happens in a classroom; however, goal orientation is defined by how an individual student provides meaning to the activity and what motivation they adopt. Goal theory has been divided into two primary goal theories, which are mastery/achievement goals and performance goals. An achievement goal is more of what you have done to reach the goal. Performance goals are based on actions taken to achieve the goal.
Once a goal is in place it should be reviewed and evaluated regularly to make sure that it is perfuming the way it should. If it is not showing value, it should be restructured. The goal is of no value if it is not showing results.
A large company may have goals placed in a bracket type form. For example beginning at the top there would be an executive goal or overall goal. Next would be an administrative goal, then a managagement goal and finally an individual goal. Each may have a different purpose.
Much of goal setting theory developments and goal setting research has been done in connection to motivation in sports and business, with the purpose to help coaches to get better results out of sportsmen, and managers to increase motivation and productivity of their employees. This is what you will often see in goal setting theory articles and presentations. Many people eventually realize how important goal setting is for their personal and business success. Only very few have gone so far as to actually sit and put their goals in writing. This is an unfortunate situation. It is well established that it is the process of writing your goals that actually puts your goals to work.
It is in this goal writing process that your subconscious mind starts taking your goals seriously. Your mind gets all the necessary signals to start moving you forward. And those signals are better to be very clear and direct, no confusing or conflicting messages. They should include clear visual images of your written goals.
Conclusion
A person with a motivational mind-set usually has their goals set and in perspective. The person has clarified the goal and is aware of what is needed to reach it. Once the goal is set it one sh9ould strive to achieve it. Evaluate the goal regularly and assess whether the goal is still effective or if it should be restructured. In order to direct ourselves we set ourselves goals that are:
• Clear (not vague) and understandable, so we know what to do and what not to do.
• Challenging, so we will be stimulated and not be bored.
• Achievable, so we are unlikely to fail.

Marketing does make a difference?

While you may have a web site on the internet the statistics may not be showing a growth. There may be a reasonable explanation to the problem.

IF you are a new web site on the internet. It may take as long as 1/3 of a year for you to be posted on some of the Top Level Domains "TLD's". This may affect your ranking severely as you are trying to add revenue to your business and you are not getting the sales you were hoping. One of the problems couple be that your web site was not coded correctly to be searchable by most TLD's. The other possible reason may be the marketing applied to your website has not been applied correctly. Who do I link to my web site?

Today’s Top Level Domains “TLD’s” are now placing web site rankings with link popularity. This is an addition to the already meta tagging policy of most search engine crawling tactics.
Link popularity is based on your linking to other domains listing your web site. This also includes the listing of web sites on your domain (“Link Counts”). Since you have little control over the content of a separately owned domain they are more focused on the websites you list as being of interest on your site. The big picture is to review the site deeply and make sure they have good design with proper content. The links you have added to our web should be relevant and meaningful to the user. If the site is not relevant and may have adult content is may bring your web site ranking down to a minimum or banned. Usually this is temporary and may take up to 6 - 12 months to remedy the drop in rankings. This is dependant on the type of marketing you have invested in. Clients who market a web site correctly can see changes being posted as soon as 48 hours of posted changes. Fixing the problem and telling the World Wide Web that you have complied with TLD’s ranking requirements.
If you want to do a simple link count go to any TLD and type in your domain name in the search and omit the dot com or dot net. See the list of TLD’s available at the bottom of this page. This will show you a list of domains that may be linking to your web site. If you see sites that you wish to have your link remove you can send them a cease and desist by email. If this is not working call them and request removal of your link. Remember to keep records of this information for any type of legal action that may be nessesary. Review your state and federal laws in cyber squatting, typo squatting, trademark rights and copyrights. There are many new and existing regulations that many web site design company’s are not aware of or blatantly ignore for their own profit!

Why is my browser sending me to navexcel search site?

You may have typed or click on a missing URL, along with the incorrect URL there is a resident program that has been installed on your computer for this very occasion. This is a program built by a company using their programming techniques to force you to leave your attempts to find the web site address and then direct you to the web sites advertising on their search system!

The funniest thing about this is that they are not directing their web site to their own service that is installed on your computer. If this was such a great thing would you not think that they would add their web site to be part of the program developed?

Reject parasites of the internet! Know what you are downloading if you are not sure search for it on www.google.com see what is listed about the software maybe add the word "problem" at the end of the search phrase or word. You will see problems pop up if individuals or business's are publishing complaints about such company's.

Individuals are contacting commerce business's with order request and are communicating with full intent of purchase. They will attempt to lure you into sending your product maybe with a down payment or complete payment. I represent www.webglassart.com and we have been receiving numerous emails, requesting the purchase material that is almost the same cost for shipping. I have called my local customs agent, they told me that they are trying to make a purchase and at the same time you ship the product they will remove the funds from your account!

If you are receiving email similar to this you should report this to the mail carriers of the origin of sender. Such as above was reported to abuse@yahoo.com and spoof@yahoo.com Most all domains will have a abuse address including First Class Webs LLC. Advantages of Pseudo Code and Flowcharts
During the process of designing programs you can break them down into pieces or segments. Each of these segments may be represented in various forms one of these id the flow chart. The flowchart enables the programmer to structure the program into the steps. Using a picture representation of the programs steps. Different shapes representing the different operations. Showing the appropriate sequences with arrows and flow. This flowchart can process variables making decisions dependant path of flow. Pseudo Code is basically a form of shorthand from the original code but not exact representation of the code for the programmer to more visualize the programs and representing more of the final students. The flow charts five the ideas of how subroutines may be interrelated and giving you a big picture. I do not see any disadvantages in the use of flowcharts or pseudo code in the use of programming in any platform.

Java

The java programming has been designed for the major purpose of the small devices, PDA's and phones and smart cards. The nice thing about java is that its portable secure and small. The considered strength is with the object orientation. Similar to C++ with its OOP but with less stringent syntax error demands. Writing code is simple to write. Many snippets are modeled in java for predefined uses and available to be remodeled on the fly for program improvement for later tasks. I don't conceder it an OS but just a complex device to relay information with a calculator attached or a camera, dependant on the programming interface with the hardware.

Writing software to the hardware that does not have operating systems.

Starting with the actual moving devices and how they are wired to the system board of the device that does not have an OS. How much work is involved is dependant on the platform you are using. Your lower level programs have fewer capabilities but then they are the basis of most programs of higher levels. The lower level programs such as BASIC, Java or even ladder logic. Building software for any program demands strategy and proper design techniques. We mostly understand the computer operations and its components. We know that a computer is useless unless it has the software to operate it. Since the computer has 4 major operations: 1. Input 2. Processing 3. Output 4. Storage We can then design software to implement the use of all of these available operations. By use of the proper syntax and language translations such as a compiler using C++ or Java information can be correctly filed for the computer to understand and give the correct output information. With the programming progress you will have about five steps to look at. First is the understanding of the use of the program. Its intent after the design knowing what the end product will be. Even if it is just a snip it of a large systems program knowing what your parts end product will be. Understand the scope of the project is basically the idea. Once you know the problems and what your role is with the project then there is the need to Plan the logic of the program. With the use of a flow chart and psuedocode we can step forward with a plan of design showing the desired inputs and outputs of the decision make process of the program. This may be referred as “developing in algorithm” The next step will be to write the code. Since there are over 400 different types of programming software relating to hundreds of different types of syntax’s the need to have concise programming skills. Some programmers will be ale to build the codes as the logic is being planned this may hold true for the less complex programs but is not fact for the large ones. The fact is that the planning of the program may be more complex and difficult then the actual coding of the program. Consider this, which is harder thinking of how you will write your term paper or to just writing a translation. I find myself taking many days or weeks on design layouts and approach tactics before even making use of them. Then there are the translations of the code to machine language. Even though there are 100’s of different programs the computer only understands 1’s and 0’s this is where translations of the software designed from the high level programming language to the low level language of digital 1’s and 0’s. When you have programming the information correctly the system will follow the instruction its was intended to do. Then there is the time to test your program the program may be syntax correct and will compile but there may be logical errors in the design giving the outputs to wrong devices. Such as maybe multiplying by 10 instead of 100 for a simple timing loop that’s controlling the space shuttle lighting system. Putting the program to use is the last step this may be a simple one time run of the stepping sequences to ensure outputs and inputs are functioning correctly. Designing for devices without operating systems is always an interesting challenge. Show me the schematics!
